Job Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the Congressional and Public Affairs Office (Code 1160) of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: creating and implementing public affairs plans, programs, policies, activities, or missions to communicate information to stakeholders such as the public, local organizations, Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, elected officials, and others as required. You will oversee the development of information and responses to requests from the news media and the public in written and oral form.
You will advise the Shipyard Commander and senior managers on policy formulation and the potential public and internal workforce reaction to proposed policies, procedures, operations, and opportunities.
You will serve as a point of contact for members of Congress, the governor of Washington and other state officials, mayors of cities, and other elected officials.
You will establish and maintain relationships and serve as the point of contact to provide information to elected officials, regional, national, and local organizations and boards on a wide variety of issues.
You will exercise technical and administrative supervision and assign and review work to a staff of public affairs specialists and supervisors.
You will manage the Public Affairs (PA) Branch of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard's (PSNS) Radiological Emergency Response Operation (RERO).
You will oversee the development of information and responses to requests from the news media and the public in written and oral form.
You will oversee the execution of a comprehensive program consisting of public information, internal information, and community relations.
