The incumbent is responsible for the management, coordination and provision of social work services to veterans and their families on the Acute Medical/Surgical and ICU units at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS). Patients are adult males and females of whom are veterans of the U. S. Armed Forces. The social worker also works with spouses, children and significant others, involving them in the planning and treatment process to enhance the care of the veteran.

Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education: Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
