Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions. One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-11) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience is defined as: Providing system design, development, implementation, operation, and modification to an organization's major information software and systems; and utilizing programming languages such as PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Reports, Oracle APEX, and HTML to write stored packages, procedures and functions in a database. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in Federal Service. Serves as member of the software developer team for a key Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise system, Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS).
Assists in development and design of operating system architecture and capabilities, configuration alternatives, data file management, system utility capabilities, standards and procedures, configuration management, and capacity planning.
Designs modifications to internal program structures in files and records and determines detailed sequence of steps and program logic.
Uses advanced testing techniques to diagnose and correct errors in coding logic.
Uses PL/SQL to create, modify and maintain web-based software solutions. Experience with Java, JavaScript, and/or UNIX scripting is a plus.
Reviews production operations to identify, diagnose, and correct production-processing problems.
Works in an agile software development environment.
