You are required to have information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: Assisting in the development, configuration, support, instillation, and maintenance of Wide Area Networks (WANs). Skill in analyzing and troubleshooting common problems and defining security requirements for new software applications. Ability to serve as a system or application security administrator, providing for various controls including software licensing, virus protection, user access, and audit control and monitoring. You will provide network services that support business requirements.
You will develop and implement configuration management plans for complex wide area networks.
You will serve as a system or application security administrator, providing for various controls including software licensing, virus protection, user access, and audit control and monitoring.
You will monitor firewall services and initiate action in response to attempted intrusions.
You will investigate reported breaches of computer security.
