Job Description:

This position is located at the Armed Forces Retirement Home-Gulfport, reporting to the Administrator. The incumbent is responsible for assisting with establishing, developing, and implementing a facility-wide Performance Improvement (PI) Program designed to improve performance by measuring, assessing, and monitoring systems and services that impact the ability of the AFRH to meet its mission, vision, and goals.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience for the GS-12: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Analyzing research in support of a facility-wide Performance Improvement (PI) Program with emphasis in healthcare services; AND Interpreting and applying healthcare services compliance standards in order to manage Healthcare PI Programs; AND Improving performance by measuring and monitoring systems and services that impact the ability of an agency or organization to meet its mission, vision, and goals. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
As a Performance Improvement Integrator, you will: Design, implement, and provide mechanisms for initiating and evaluating the effectiveness of the PI Program which will examine such areas as: clinical services; medical and pharmacy; staff development; finance; psychosocial; resident services; safety; and campus operations. Assist the membership of the PI Committee in the development of performance indicators and performance improvement projects, as well as schedule, organize, and participate in coordinating of monthly PI meetings. Track status of identified problems to ensure improvement or resolution and discusses unusual occurrences with Administrator and the PI Committee. Use information collected to determine trends and measure performance against AFRH goals and objectives; make recommendations on monitoring actions and outcomes, assisting in resolution as needed; and document high risk issues and PI projects to the Internal Control Board.
