The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma is seeking an attorney with significant electronic discovery practice to join our Criminal Division. This is a continuous announcement used to fill immediate vacancies with multiple cut-off dates. First cutoff Sunday August 3, 2025 and as needed until position is filled or cutoff date is met. This position is located in Muskogee, Oklahoma. This announcement may be used to fill other permanent appointments and vacancies as needed.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree, be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction), and have at least 1* year post-J.D. legal or other relevant experience. United States citizenship is required. Preferred Qualifications: Desire to work as an AUSA in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, with prior violent crime prosecution and jury trial experience. Possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to work closely with federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies. Have superior research, writing, and oral advocacy abilities, strong academic credentials, and good judgment. Intelligence and aptitude, measured by professional experience/growth potential, academic record, the writing sample, and any interview performance. Commitment to excellence, strong work ethic and drive, as may be demonstrated through successful team work, leadership, obstacles overcome, and personal, academic and professional achievement. The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma is pursuing the employment of an experienced attorney with significant electronic discovery practice to fill an eLitigation Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) vacancy. The successful candidate will be responsible for: promoting standardized discovery and case-management practices; promoting use of existing eLitigation tools (e.g. Everlaw, OnCue, Evidence.com, Adobe Premier Suite), assessing the utility of new tools, and providing trainings; developing and maintaining sample forms and pleadings; liaising with other DOJ components and law enforcement entities; staying up-to-date on emerging issues and providing advice to management and other AUSAs; providing technical and strategic guidance to litigation teams on collection, review, production, and presentation of evidence; and serving as counsel and/or counsel on a select number of cases. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma (USAOKE) serves as the chief federal law enforcement office in the Eastern District of Oklahoma and is accountable to the citizens of the Eastern District for pursuing justice, ensuring public safety, enforcing the law, protecting the interests of the United States, and exercising stewardship of the government's resources. The Eastern District is comprised of 26 counties in eastern and southern Oklahoma, ranging from southeast of Tulsa, Oklahoma to the Texas border and from the Arkansas border to Carter County on the west. The headquarters of the Five Civilized Tribes (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee (Creek) and Seminole) are located in the District. The entire Eastern District of Oklahoma is Indian country and the USAOKE has jurisdiction to prosecute major crimes committed by or against members of a federally recognized Indian tribe. As a result, the successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to serve in a vibrant, challenging, and evolving criminal prosecution division.
