Job Description:

You will serve as an Insulator Supervisor in the Production Resources Department of PSNS and IMF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will serve as a first level supervisor of the Insulator trade, performing thermal and/or acoustic insulation and lagging of piping systems, machinery tanks, ducts, valves, fittings, and other items aboard ships and in the Shipyard.
You will plan daily and weekly work schedules, establishing priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods, and instructions from higher levels of supervision.
You will assign work to subordinates and instruct them on work requirements, methods, and procedures, defining the standards of quantity and quality to be met, and is accountable to superiors for the quality and quantity of work performed.
You will inspect work while in progress and at completion.
You will change work plans, work assignments and methods as necessary to reduce or control costs and maintain schedule.
