About the Position: Performs a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of personnel management, preparation and control, training, purchasing, files management, reports, and card holder processing and administration.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Administrative support for management, such as answering phone calls and maintaining files; AND 2) Experience coordinating travel, such as setting up funding and initiating training requests; AND 3) Experience initiating personnel actions in an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business or Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Additional Minimum Qualifications This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Initiates, processes, monitors, reports, and resolves issues related to requests for personnel actions.
Maintains accurate time and attendance records and accurately inputs the data into the automated processing system in a timely fashion.
Initiates and coordinates training requests, sets up funding, and accomplishes travel orders.
Prepares documents to order goods, supplies, and/or services for various operations.
Performs a variety of clerical duties to include: receives visitors and phone calls, personally provides information requested or directs to staff members those contacts that require attention or action; maintains correspondence.
