Job Description:

You will serve as a COMBINED TRADES SUPERVISOR II in the OCEAN ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. You will plan overall work assignments on an immediate and long-range basis in accordance with established schedule requirements.
You will ensure plans, blueprints, materials, and tools are available, and needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
You will maintain a current knowledge, and answer questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives.
You will control the work of the lead shops and coordinate the work of the miscellaneous trades that are assigned work within the zone.
You will establish, assign, and explain work requirements to subordinate supervisors, setting deadlines, priorities, and sequences to be followed for work operations.
You will identify training and qualification needs of subordinates; effect on-the-job training, recommend personnel actions, and enforce disciplinary actions.
