About the position: This position will be assigned to the Youth Center at Travis Air Force Base, CA. Class A or B Driver's License is required. Eligible to use base facilities such as: Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must posses a "Class B" drivers license. Must provide an approved medical form completed by the U.S. licensed doctor of medicine (M.D.). A medical report dated within the last two years must be provided initially and then kept current which means renewal every two years; experience operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers; be familiar with traffic and safety regulations, practices, and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operating (buses); and passenger safety rules. Must communicate orally; judge road/traffic conditions; read maps, interpret instructions, related to motor vehicle operation (buses); do preventative maintenance and ensure passenger safety. Must provide a copy of driving record.
Drives one or more types of passenger buses which carry 16 or more passengers. Drives predetermined and/or scheduled routes or special runs. Reads maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route. Performs operator maintenance, such as checking fluid levels and air pressure in tires, cleaning and washing of vehicles and performing inspection checklists to ensure safe and proper operation.
