You will serve as a Interdisciplinary Engineer in the Submarine Acoustic Warfare Systems Branch of the Undersea Systems & Sustainment Engineering Department of NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: assisting in the design of submarine undersea defensive systems or subsystems. You will provide recommendations to project leaders on system interrelationships that must be considered in producing the desired outputs.
You will design subsystem components, develop installation processes, specify technical data package requirements, and oversee implementation of systems engineering relationships in the design and development of all task areas.
You will monitor and mentor the performance of subordinate, junior engineers in accomplishment of team related tasks executed by other civil service workers or contractors.
You will modify standard practices, analyze business processes and adapt electromechanical systems to solve a variety of weapon control system problems.
You will apply expertise in defensive weapon systems to ensure that assigned systems are meeting the specified requirements during system modifications and system certifications.
You will develop operating specifications for integrated defensive weapon systems based upon the use and implementation of commercial-off-the-shelf components.
