About the Position: You will be a Section Chief responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, accomplishing, supervising and reviewing real estate activities under the jurisdiction of the Corps of Engineers including civil works project and programs support; military installations, projects and programs support; and support to other agencies. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes iinterpreting and applying laws, regulations and policies associated with federal real estate acquisitions, management and disposals; AND supervising or leading a team of realty specialists; AND establishing work plans, balancing workloads, and monitoring outcomes for a team; AND explaining real estate programs and strategies to senior leadership. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Real Estate Teamwork Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
As a Section Chief, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, accomplishing, supervising and reviewing real estate activities.
Real Estate activities are under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers including civil works project and programs support; military installations, projects and programs support; and support to other agencies.
As a key member of the Real Estate Division leadership team, exercising strategic, operational and tactical vision for mission delivery supporting the Sacramento and San Francisco Districts, the South Pacific Division region and the USACE enterprise.
Direct the workforce and workload of a specific branch in coordination with other Real Estate Division supervisors and organizations to accomplish district, regional and enterprise priorities, programs, and projects.
This work often includes unusual, difficult, and complex matters involving other Federal agencies; Indian tribes; state, county, and city governments; private individuals and business entities.
Activities include the full range of acquisition, leasing, management, and disposal functions, along with the coordination of related appraisal, cadastral, legal and other requirements.
Exercise administrative and technical supervisory authority over subordinates, including establishing performance standards, rating performance, and identifying developmental and training needs of subordinates.
Administer a variety of discretionary and non-discretionary management programs (such as safety, cost reduction, incentive awards, EEO, improvement suggestions, etc.).
