This Laundry Worker position is located at the Tomah, WI VA Medical Center, in the Environmental Management Service.

SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Major duties: Folds, sorts, and stacks various rough dry items according to established procedures and/ or as instructed by the supervisor. Sorts and hangs uniforms on hangers on the portable racks and assists in the assembly of linen and miscellaneous requests from using services as the need arises. Responsible for linen cart make-up for each patient care building, and other out buildings. Assists in the station wide Annual Linen Inventory. Sorts and hangs patients' personal clothing. Keeps equipment and work areas clean and orderly. Assists in the processing, folding, sorting, and bundling of patients' personal clothing and the "finishing" of employee uniforms 'in accordance with established procedures and/ or supervisor's instructions. Maintains patient ward locator card file with information obtained from the Gains and Loss Sheet. Assists in the marking of new linens prior to putting them into service. Work Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm. The laundry can be a congested, hectic, noisy, hot or cold environment, including drafts. Humidity can also be unpleasant.
