Job Description:

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing safety program policy, procedures, and guidance and updates all policy and procedures as requirements change; 2) Scheduling and performing inspections to identify unsafe or unhealthy conditions and processes; 3) Assisting in the preparation of the budget for the safety office and command safety program; and 4) Investigating mishaps, determining casual factors, and providing recommendations to safety issues. You will conduct evaluations of safety programs to address program deficiencies
You will analyze mishaps and hazardous conditions to determine origin, causes, and contributing elements to prepare written reports.
You will advise or guide others in clear and concise terms to explain safety program objectives
You will advise commands on best methods and practices to establish and administer activity safety programs.
You will enforce safety and occupational health standards according to federal Occupational and Safety Health (OSHA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other installation policy and directives.
