Job Description:
This position is located at the FMWR Community Activity Center on Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Up to 25% recruitment, relocation and/or retention incentive may be authorized. Eligible for 1.49% COLA. Must have knowledge of wide range of recreation and sports activities, organization and structure of military units and installation sports program objectives, policies, methods and procedures to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, assist, guide and motivate military staff in carrying out their responsibilities. Must have basic understanding of budget and supply functions in order to prepare input and justification of funding for supplies and equipment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing (English). Work experience or education directly related to the duties to be performed. Highly Preferred: Candidates that possess highly preferred criteria and meet the minimum qualifications above will be referred to the hiring manager first. Criteria is verified within the application package. Possess at least one (1) year of experience working in Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) that incudes the utilization of systems like RecTrac and FMWR financial reporting such as Daily Activity Reports (DARs). Possess at least one (1) year experience providing oversight, planning and executing events for 50+ patrons to include concerts, comedy shows, holiday events, Soldier Family Readiness Group (SFRG) events, etc. Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
Supervises a staff of 3-12 employees, assigns and reviews work assignments on a daily, weekly, or longer basis.
Plans work schedules, approves or disapproves leave, determines performance objectives and rates performance.
Execute recreation events, programs and services to meet the recreational needs of a diverse patronage, including a variety of multi disciplinary events which involve a variety of activities.
Recommends items of supplies, materials, prizes, decorations, refreshments, and equipment needed for program functions.
