For the GS-07: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Preparing reports for managers and supervisors in compliance with financial records management, assisting in preparing incident cost comparisons, and recommending resolution to financial management issues arising from wildland fire incidents. -OR- Education: One year of graduate level coursework towards a master's degree directly related to finance/business management. -OR- Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.)* -OR- A combination of Education and Experience as described above. *Superior Academic Achievement: (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade requirement in accordance with 5 CFR 300.604. If you are a current Federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must have completed a minimum of 52 weeks at the next lower grade level. Physical Demands: No unusual exertion is required. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical officer setting.
Analyzes and evaluates policies, procedures, guidelines, and administrative processes to resolve conventional problems and situations.
Conducts studies of programs, functions, and work processes such as delegations of authority, routing of correspondence, work procedures, workload data, storage of files and records.
Develops procedures and systems for assessing the effectiveness of programs and management processes in a land management environment.
Develops life cycle cost analyses of projects or performs cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs.
May analyze budget projections assessing validity of assumptions and consistency of estimates.
May assist with planning, coordinating, and developing budget proposals.
Conducts detailed analyses and advises on the organization, methods, and procedures for providing administrative support pertaining to matters such as records, communications, directives, forms, files, and documentation.
Prepares and delivers reports and briefings to managers or the supervisor on study findings and recommendations.
