Specialized Experience: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. For the GS-9: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Evaluating and preparing reports for managers and supervisors in compliance with financial records management, performing incident cost comparisons, and providing resolution to incident related business management issues. -OR- master's or equivalent graduate degree directly related to finance/business management. -OR- two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such as degree directly related to finance/business management. -OR- LL.B. or J.D., directly related to finance/business management. -OR- combination of directly related Education and Experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Physical Demands: No unusual physical exertion is required. Work Environment: Work is performed in a typical office setting.
Analyzes results of incident operations and prepares reports with recommended action.
Provides advice and consultation to Fire Program on fire business management activities.
Identifies business management problem areas and recommends enhancements to Fire Management Officer (FMO).
Conducts reviews of the effectiveness of financial management and other business management practices on incidents within the Fire Program.
Conducts comparisons of historical and current incident cost data.
Develops or modifies appropriate business management training material for the Fire Program.
Participates in scheduling and coordinating state sponsored training sessions.
Develops and conducts training for fire business management support positions which are not in the Incident Command red-card system.
