About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Child and Development Center on JB Charleston Airbase SC. THIS IS A NOT TO EXCEED TEMPORARY POSITION OF 01 SEP 2026

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. In addition to the above requirement, applicant is required to demonstrate possession of a high degree of proficiency in typing and knowledge of word processing techniques. Must be a qualified typist. Performance objectives and standards will be established locally by the rating official. Prepares/types of routine correspondence accurately and in the proper format for signature. Tracks suspense keeps supervisor informed of status and follows up on open items. Gathers input/data for response and prepares appropriate correspondence material. Accumulates data to maintain accurate time and attendance records, updates records and inputs APF/NAF data into the payroll system. Use personal knowledge of the organization to properly direct visitors and telephone calls. Maintains pleasant, cordial and professional relationships with contacts both on and off base, and with internal and external services customers/patrons. Complies with safety and health guidance/requirements and keeps the work area in a clean and orderly condition. Establishes, maintains, controls, protects and disposes of records/documents according to established guidelines and procedures. Ensure files/filling is kept current in an efficient system that locates information/materials in a manner that allows for timely document retrieval. The primary purpose of this position is to provide general office duties to support management. Uses work processing software to produce a variety of documents. Transmit and receive documents and messages electronically using personal computer or workstation that is networked or linked to other computers or workstations throughout the work area or organization. Types correspondence, reports, forms, messages, memoranda, statistical or tabular material, where spacing arrangements are complicated, directly in final form without a rough draft. Arranges the material in the form necessitated by the nature of the subject matter, the purpose for which it is to be used, the format required by regulations, style manuals or policy. Performs a variety of general office duties such as receiving telephone calls and visitors, routing and filing correspondence, and maintaining files. Performs other related duties as assigned.
