About the Position: The position serves as full deputy to the Assistant Chief of Staff and G-1 Human Resources (HR) Director in the Headquarters (HQ) United States Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) responsible for oversight of the Command's military (Active and Reserve Component) and Civilian HR programs, Military personnel services programs, detail recruiter program, Soldier and Family assistance programs and well-being programs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes developing organization specific policies (i.e., workforce policies, supplement higher-echelon guidance) that thoroughly explain human resource procedures; managing daily civilian and/or military human resources functions (i.e., recruitment, position management, workforce shaping) to ensure mission requirements are met; conducting personnel readiness studies to determine effectiveness of human resource operations; and analyzing statistical human resource program data to provide recommendations to key organization decision makers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision Support Leadership Oral Communication Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
Assist with Command decision making to support the vision and goals for the directorate and Command’s HR programs.
Collaborate with division supervisors to manage the day-to-day operations of assigned personnel office.
Serve as primary command advisor on all matters related to civilian and military human resources practices.
Report to multiple Army entities (Department of Army, Training and Doctrine Command, Human Resources Command) to ensure command-wide human resource programs meet outlined expectations.
Conduct studies to identify changes and potential impacts to command’s human resources program.
