THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (T32), Position Description Number D1330P01 and is part of the AL 232ND CBCS, National Guard. ORGANIZATION: 232 CBCS, MONTGOMERY, AL SELECTING OFFICIAL: CMSGT R. PUTTEET
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Air National Guard. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Knowledge of basic or commonly applied rules, procedures, or operations such as, filling out, posting, filing, controlling, or coding documents and/or transactions. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment. Experience conducting searches for required information; reconstruct records for supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, and parts. Experience performing various aspects of supply specialist work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to segments in one or more major areas of supply management. Experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc. Consistent with the grade level determining duties in the position description, higher grade level specialized experience may include experience controlling supply stocks and accounting for equipment, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures. Completing complex supply transactions; and/or providing supply operations support. Experience coordinating with other organizations on complex and controversial supply issues. Experience analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc. Knowledge on the entire inventory management supply system. Experience providing advice and guidance on supply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions
1. Organizes the materiel control activities required to ensure effective organizational supply support (to include expendables and non-expendables) to the Combat Communications Squadron. Determines, analyzes, coordinates, plans and formulates annual budget submissions for operations and maintenance funds. Forecasts future supply and equipment requirements based on coordination with plans and programs personnel and higher management echelons. Receives and validates funds allocations for the unit. Records expenditures and maintains current on-hand balances. Reconciles Project Funds Management (PFMR) documents for the unit and provides financial accounting data, expenditure rates, forecasts of financial accounting data, expenditure rates, and forecasts of financial position to the commander. (25%) 2. Serves as the unit single point of contact for the depot level supported programs. Establishes procedures, monitors, corrects, and provides oversight to the unit's managed supply programs. Maintains current financial data and balances of managed supply programs. Maintains current financial data and balances of supply program status, to include critical items, that impact the equipment's ability to deploy, and overall unit's readiness. Ensures real-time pricing updates are maintained at depot administrative pricing agencies. Forecasts unit supply costs based upon pricing options within a managed supply program. Advises supervisor, on financial status of the managed supply program and ensures adequate funding is available to support the maintenance complex. Advises maintenance work center personnel on the status of items and traces turn-ins to due-outs to effect optimization of available funding and spares within the supply system. (20%) 3. Establishes and implements procedures to effectively provide for all maintenance requirements. Provides organizational supply support in matters pertaining to unit equipment transactions and requirements. Establishes, institutes, and monitors follow-up systems to ascertain current status of priority demands and follow-up requests. Coordinates and verifies consumable requirements and researches alternative locations to satisfy supply demand. Analyzes and takes required follow-up action with identified outside agencies regarding delayed discrepancies which require parts that are identified on support system documents. Provides alternative solutions, in accordance with applicable directives, when action is in the overall best interest of the mission. (20%) 4. Manages, implements, and executes programs in support of the mobility support requirements. Designated as the single point of contact between mobility work centers and the materiel management branch of servicing base supply. Manages, directs, and analyzes the operation of the units' mobility storage facilities. Coordinates all Asset Management materiel requirements with work centers, unit mobility personnel, Flight Chiefs, unit commander and base supply. Validates addition, removal, and deletion of Asset Management items in accordance with guidance from higher management echelons in order to satisfy Mission Capability (MICAP) priority requirements, lateral support requirements, and other nonstandard requests. Provides impact statement regarding all Asset Management actions. Establishes, maintains, and implements programs to ensure shelf life items and items requiring operational checks are properly managed within the Asset Management program. Implements procedures and monitors actions taken to record items required for placement in Asset Management. (15%) 5. Coordinates and maintains written correspondence with appropriate supporting base supply activity to establish bench stock determination and composition of supply points and establishment and adjustment of levels on items within the base supply to support maintenance complex requirements. Validates and requisitions Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) kits. Monitors and tracks TCTO compliance supply related activities. Ensures TCTO actions on supply controlled spares are accomplished and determines appropriate funding impacts as caused by the TCTO. Prepares written supply difficulty requests and maintains complete records until final disposition of the difficulty is determined. Analyzes all supply generated documents and reports, and advises senior unit management of the overall equipment, funding, spares, and supply oriented position of the unit. (15%) 6. May supervise one full-time employee. Grants leave, counsels, prepares and writes performance appraisals, and initiates disciplinary action. Schedules work production and training for 1 to 3 drill status guardsmen. Makes necessary adjustments to work plans, assignments, and methods of accomplishing assigned tasking.
