This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (AH-64), Position Description Number PDD0484000, and is part of the SC AASF, South Carolina Army National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard *Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and are not eligible for Area 1. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience, education or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Compiling reports, letters, memoranda, etc., and required person-to-person contacts to convey information. Progressively responsible experience which demonstrates the ability to provide technical guidance and assistance in the type of work or in comparable work of the position to be filled. Experience using computer and automation systems SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to journey-level experience or training equivalent to or exceeding the WG-10 or WU-10 grade level, positions at this grade level may include performing duties as a dedicated crew chief. Other positions may include responsibility for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing the work and any periodic inspections to be done on an aircraft whether it is alone, or with the assistance of other mechanics and/or workers. Some positions may include coordinating the work of other journey-level workers in other trades to work simultaneously on the aircraft. Other positions may include serving as the technical authority to advise on, examine, and approve all airframe, mechanical, electrical, and pneudraulic repairs of assigned aircraft. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position. 2. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position. 3. This position is located in an Army Aviation Support Facility (AASF)or Army Aviation Flight Activity (AAFA) with responsibility for the performanceof the full range of aircraft maintenance duties including troubleshooting,preventive maintenance, repair, and ground testing of assemblies, systems, andsurfaces for one or more types of military aircraft, fixed and rotary wing. Performduties and has responsibilities understood under the military designationof Crew Chief which involves full maintenance responsibility for a required minimumnumber of aircraft as determined by type of aircraft. Has responsibility for oneor more subordinate employees who assist in the repair and maintenance of assignedaircraft. May be required to perform duties per the military definition of FlightEngineer. positions at this grade level may include performing duties as a dedicated crew chief.
