Job Description:

You will serve as a Supervisor Mechanical Engineer in the Engineering & Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer planning and leading projects related to the test and evaluation of mechanical systems and equipment for ship systems testing operations. You will effectively coordinate with Nuclear Chief Test Engineers for matters involving interface testing with systems under their cognizance and with Ship's Force with respect to test readiness and support of shipboard testing.
You will advise higher level managers on problems involving the relationship of the work of the function to boarder shipyard programs and the effect on those programs
You will be directly responsible and accountable for the technical adequacy, proper sequencing and effective execution of a multi-million-dollar test program involving all non-nuclear electrical and mechanical systems.
You will execute significant projects representing an important segment of the agency’s operating programs, or affecting the welfare of the public and/or the sustainability of natural resources and the environment.
You will establish priorities and monitor work assigned making adjustments as determined necessary.
