This position is located ton the morale, Warfare, And Recreation (MWR), Marketing Department of Naval Support Activity Mid-South. The incumbent assists the Marketing Director with the design and implementation of all-encompassing marketing programs for the MWR Department. Assists in identifying, establishing and maintaining communication needed and developing informational materials that inform appropriate agencies of the policies, services and activities of the MWR Department.

Works in production, cutting, trimming, printing, and delivery and setup of print media and marketing display material. Attends scheduled events located at various locations required by management to meet the Marketing department mission. Critical and creative thinking and the ability to contribute fresh ideas. Strong attention to detail and organization. Must possess a valid state driver license, as travel to other sites and facilities, pickup and delivery of printed materials, marketing sign holders and displays etc., are required within the normal scope of duties. Required to work an uncommon tour of duty that includes weekends, nights, and holidays. Must proofread materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance with the organizations policies, proper formatting including grammar, punctuation and spelling. An understanding of the latest social media trends and the role they play in marketing and advertising to MWR patrons is preferred. Must be able to use a Camera Phone, DSLR camera and GoPro for photography and video assignments. Ability to quickly learn and use new software programs. Ability to solve practical problems. Possess strong organizational skills and close attention to detail. Must be able to communicate well, both orally and in writing Possess a good eye for layout and typography. A good understanding of the publishing and print production process is essential for this role as is the ability to work tight deadlines. Must be proficient and have current working knowledge in Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Cloud design software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Acrobat DC). Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher). Must have effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Assists in the administrative duties associated with planning, initiating, and implementing a comprehensive marketing program including public relations, advertising, research, and commercial sponsorship. Assists with the coordination of MWR publicity through newspapers, Plans of the Day, brochures, posters, and other media sources. Assists in researching and developing resources available to provide cost-effective and profitable programs, events, promotions, and activities. Assists in the preparation of brochures, flyers, posters, videos, newsletters, and other media sources. Ensures media distribution. Maintains calendar of command events to assist with coordination and promotion. Performs a variety of clerical assistant tasks such as controlling correspondence, preparing routine correspondence, responding to telephone inquiries, etc. Performs other duties as assigned and/or requested PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be physically able to stand, bend, stoop and walk in performance of work. Incumbents may be required to stand for extended periods of time. Moderate lifting of up to 45 pounds may be required. If weight is over 45 pounds, seek assistance from another employee. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Job requires both indoor and outdoor work. outdoor venues for special events can be expected.
