Job Description:

You will serve as a LEAD NUCLEAR ENGINEER in the NUCLEAR ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PSNS and IMF.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: professional engineer assessing and recommending improvements to projects related to the maintenance and repair of nuclear propulsion plant systems, components, or equipment. You will provide engineering direction such as preparation, review, and approval of Technical Work Documents (TWD) and administrative documents in support of reactor plant procedures.
You will prepare and progress technical reports on assigned programs and projects involving the design, development, and demonstration of nuclear technology relevant to you Area of Responsibility (AOR).
You will interpret and evaluate engineering drawings, specifications, and technical data packages.
You will mentor technical subordinates, functional area associates, and departmental management in the application of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, division and functional area engineering, and general engineering leadership principles.
You will direct the technical efforts of junior engineers and technicians in their performance of work on projects to which they are assigned and be able to resolve technical or administrative problems encountered.
You will lead, mentor, coordinate, integrate and communicate successfully the assigned critical skill elements in the associated community of practice (functional area) and with other interfacing functional areas.
