Job Description:

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Quality Division of the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility.. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting quality assurance audits or surveillances and analyzing results in support of nuclear work of overhaul, testing, maintenance, and refueling to identify operational or procedural deficiencies and recommend corrective action to ensure project completion. You will prepare for, conduct, and originate audit and surveillance reports of programs and processes owned within the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department.
You will report problems for assigned programs and processes to managers or supervisors to assure the supervisor has timely knowledge of emergent problems or trends.
You will have technical responsibility for planning, coordination, monitoring, managing, or review of a wide range of interrelated programs.
You will coordinate management level evaluations and meetings involving Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and senior shipyard management.
You will conduct reviews with other organizations and recommend modifications or impose requirements to eliminate problems and improve process and program performance.
