You will serve as the Department Chief Engineer (CHENG) in the Combat Systems, Test & Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a professional engineer developing, testing, and advising on combat systems and warfare elements to provide technical project management and advocacy for an organization. You will serve in the Combat Systems, Test and Evaluation Department as the Department Chief Engineer (CHENG) and lead of the Systems Engineering competency within the Department.
You will serve as the senior mentor for engineering personnel, and will be responsible for developing high-level Individual Leadership Development Plan (ILDP) objectives for the engineers.
You will serve as the Department senior engineer in the development of new enhancements to integrated Combat/Weapon/Sensor systems including hardware and software.
You will provide senior systems engineering expertise in the integration, interoperability, investigation and studies between different Combat/Weapon/Sensor systems.
You will develop, coordinate, direct, and report on technical projects related to the systems engineering test and evaluation of combat systems and weapon elements.
You will lead and work with multiple defense agencies and contractor teams in the development of requirements, investigation and analysis of combat systems anomalies and adjudication of technical conflicts, risks and uncertainties.
