To qualify for the Supervisory Facilities Project Specialist, PG - 1640 - 14 , you must meet the following requirements: To qualify Supervisory Facilities Project Specialist, PG 1640-14, 1 year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level PG-13 or higher. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: 1.Performing facilities operations 'project management involving technical and professional work pertaining to construction, contracts, compliance for facilities operations' projects. AND 2. Coordinating and directing assigned work of facilities operations specialists and construction control representatives while following program and project initiatives in compliance with all specifications and standards. AND 3. Leading the project plan to achieve objectives, milestones and keeping the project on track by measuring progress,and assuring inspection of contractors work meet standards Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Supervises, manages and provides technical guidance to a team of Construction Control Representatives, Support Contractors, and Facility Operations Specialists.
Supervises construction project development and provides oversight from concept through completion to include budget, scheduling and contract development while coordinating with stakeholders and project managers.
Directs construction oversight activities of Construction Control Representatives ensuring proper inspection and quality control over contractors’ work.
Supervises administration of construction and professional service contracts for compliance with federal acquisition regulations and agency policies.
Performs personnel management of Facility Operations Specialists and Construction Control Representatives to include work assignment, establishment and evaluation of performance standards.
