This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted position for a MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM MANAGER, Position Description Number PDD3550000 , and is part of the SC MED COMMAND, South Carolina Army National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Area 1 Only. Area 1: Current employees of the South Carolina Army National Guard (Tenure 1 and 2) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT & NOTES: 1. Work may require access to classified information. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. 2. Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day. 3. May be required to travel by car, in military and/or commercial aircraft, and by other means of transportation as appropriate to perform temporary duty assignments. 4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. 5. This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this positions. 6. This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. Pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing is a condition of employment. Note: The caveat is that the states, territories, and the district cannot drug test until a drug free workplace policy has been established and approved by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Other Requirements: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
This position is in the Office of the State Surgeon, Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST). Serves as the Joint Force Headquarters - State (JFHQ-ST) Deputy State Surgeon. The incumbent serves as the State Surgeon's full time representative. The purpose of the position is to plan, coordinate, direct, and implement the medical readiness administrative programs of the state and provide oversight/supervision for the other programs located in the Office of the State Surgeon. Work may be performed in a variety of settings including, but not limited to healthcare related facilities such as medical centers, clinical offices, laboratories and medical research centers.
