Skills and Knowledge: Skilled in all phases of house cleaning. Possess ability to clearly communicate general and specific instructions, both orally and in writing. Must be able to read and understand directions on product labels and printed instructions. Knowledgeable in safe working habits, conditions and environment. Ability to use various industrial-type equipment, to include performing minor maintenance on equipment. Responsibility: Performs duties independently within the framework of prescribed procedures. Works with specific oral and written instructions. Assigns duties to personnel and ensures they are completed correctly and in the allotted time given. Checks with supervisor when situations arise that have any questionable aspects to the tasks. Physical Effort: Work requires constant standing, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting of objects. Climbs ladders and operates industrial equipment. Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance. Working Conditions: Work is typically performed indoors, in areas that normally have adequate heat, light and ventilation, however some duties required are outside and will expose incumbent to varying types of weather. May be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors, chemicals and cleaning solutions and receive minor cuts and bruises. Powered cleaning equipment may cause vibration during handling. Work is often dirty and dusty.
Leads Housekeeping and laundry staff in accomplishment of work. Demonstrates work methods and provides training and work-related guidance for lower grade workers. Relays instructions to personnel, sets work pace, assigns tasks and gets work started. Ensures that workers have the necessary tools and equipment to perform the assigned duties. Reviews and spot checks work in progress and upon completion to ensure proper quality of work is performed. Corrects any discrepancies that are found. Ensures employees follow security, safety and good housekeeping practices. Informs supervisors of work progress, operations problems, need for supplies and equipment, actual or potential delays and similar items. Updates room status in computer system in a timely fashion to accommodate incoming guest arrivals. Walks and inspects facility public areas, back of house areas, and exteriors several times per day. Must be alert to alcohol abuse, and take appropriate action. Performs Housekeeper duties as required. This includes makings beds, changing sheets, towels, and other linens and terry. Thoroughly cleans guest room to include dusting, waxing and polishing furniture, sweeping floors, vacuuming rugs, emptying wastebaskets, and cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, including showers, bathtubs, commodes and sinks. Cleans and sanitizes guest room kitchens and kitchen equipment to include refrigerators, ovens and cabinets. Using a ladder, washes ceiling fixtures, windows and dusts drapes and blinds. Removes scuffs and marks from walls. Sanitizes all fixtures and bedding with disinfectant, and replenishes guest supplies such as soaps, toiletries, drinking cups, coffee and tea, etc. Arranges furniture and guest supplies in a neat and orderly fashion as directed Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
