This position is in the Division of Safety and Emergency Services at the Statue of Liberty National Monument and Ellis Island. The incumbent functions as a Supervisory Park Ranger (Emergency Services) and has the responsibility of supervising a team of Emergency Services and EMS Personnel. The team is responsible for preparing for, preventing, responding to, and recovering from emergencies in a high-volume ICON Park to ensure the protection of visitors and park resources.

You MUST provide proof of these certifications with your application. - AND - To qualify for this position at the GS-11 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement: Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal Service. Specialized experience demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the position's duty to be filled successfully. For this position specialized experience is experience assisting in scheduling and managing emergency medical operations; providing operational leadership during search and rescue and emergency medical response incidents; and providing advisory services to management, lower graded staff and visitors. -OR- Education: 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree related to the occupation. -OR- Combination: Successful combination of Ph.D. level education and specialized experience as described above. Performs a full range of administrative supervisory duties Including hiring, counseling, evaluating, and disciplining employees. Manages the short-term and long-term planning related to emergency response and safety training of subordinate personnel, park employees, and park partners. Oversee daily park operations in conjunction with supervisors from other divisions in the park. Prepares new or revised guidelines and operating procedures that deal with matters such as emergency services activities, EMS, wildland and structural fire control, rescue, and emergency management. Manages and participates in all capacities of all-hazards emergency incidents.
