Basic Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. License Requirement for Supervisory Social Worker (Family Advocacy): Licensure: A current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. In addition to meeting the basic and license requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: assessing incidents of abuse or neglect, providing individual or group counseling to abusers or victims, developing treatment plans to those involved in abuse or neglect, and reviewing clinical work of team members/co-workers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Responsible for development and maintenance of professional standards of service and coordination of social work services with other programs of service to the same group of clients.
Prepare written diagnoses to document patient assessments and/or treatments.
Refer individuals to services to prevent or reduce the risk of abuse.
Develop treatment plans for family advocacy patients by utilizing the psychosocial assessment previously completed.
Provide therapeutic treatment to those involved in domestic violence, child abuse or neglect in accordance with treatment plans.
Provide technical oversight in the development of treatment plans by lower graded staff.
