Job Description:

This position will operate under the Rosebud Housekeeping Department in Rosebud, South Dakota. The primary purpose of this position is to operate a variety of motor vehicles to provide transportation services of non-emergent/clinically stable patients, federal personnel, and cargo. This position also serves as a Custodial Worker performing the full range of cleaning tasks in an assigned area, following general instructions on the custodial work to be accomplished.
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. WAGE GRADE STATEMENT Candidates for this position will be evaluated under the federal wage system job grading standards for WG-5703. No specific length of experience is required. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: A valid State Driver's License is required to operate government-owned or -leased motor vehicles. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. All applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and be subject to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug testing upon hiring. Appointment to the position will be contingent upon a negative applicant drug test result. PHYSICAL EFFORT Moderately heavy physical effort is used occasionally in moving, setting up, working from ladder and scaffolds, in moving of office furniture, supplies and equipment, and unloading cargo; potentially greater than 50 pounds. Use of heavy powered cleaning equipment (wall washers, industrial buffers…) is required, but not on a continual basis. Considerable physical effort may be required to change tires and make limited emergency repairs, such as installing an emergency fan belt or replacing electrical fuses on open highways. Cleans offices, patient rooms, exam rooms, corridors, storerooms, temporary duty quarters, government housing, and other hospital areas. Sweeps, dry mops, wet mops, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors. Using brooms, mops, light and heavy-duty types of vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, buffers, and other types of floor equipment. Cleans patient rooms, washes beds, cribs, bedside stands, and tables. Maintains restrooms in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
