MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower GS-04 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Assist patients with making appointments, interview patients to gather information, enter patient data into an electronic health record, assist patients in completing forms, review documents for accuracy, explain processes and policies to patients, initiate health records and admission forms. OR 4 years of education above the high school level. OR Combination of education and experience that when combined meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position is located within the Phoenix Area Indian Health Service, Fort Yuma Service Unit (FYSU), Nursing Services, Primary Care Department. The purpose of the position is to Medical Support duties, Clerical duties for the ambulatory Primary Care Department. This position will provide assistance to a diverse population. The incumbent will serve as the primary source of contact for the Primary Care staff and members of the medical home team. The incumbent will manage patient communications, process registrations, maintain sensitive records, assist in report preparation, coordinate supply orders. Screens telephone calls and reviews patient registration information to enable the facility business office to bill for healthcare services. Maintains sensitive information, registers, records, and reports to provide statistics and information for patient care planning and other purposes. Types and reproduces special notices, worksheets, and materials for the Primary Care and Nursing Departments, ensuring current knowledge of IHS ( Indian Health Service) and clinical manuals. Prepare requisitions for supplies, monitoring, and ordering as needed.
