Job Description:
You will serve as an ENGINEER in the Energetics Manufacturing Technology Department (M), Cast Products & Explosives Division (M2), Cast Rockets Assembly Branch (M23) of NAVSURFWARCEN IH DIV. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The ND-03 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-09 through GS-11. The ND-04 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-12 and GS-13.
To qualify for the ND-4: In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-3 pay band (GS-9/11 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer applying mechanical engineering/scientific theories, concepts, and practices to analyze and coordinate ordnance manufacturing or explosive standard processes or procedures for improved quality and efficiency of manufacturing projects for an organization. To qualify for the ND-3: In addition to basic education requirements, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-2 pay band (GS-5/8 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. You will perform project engineering duties to include preparing cost proposals, assisting in planning project execution, assisting in providing technical oversight and preparing Standard Operating Procedures.
You will assist in conducting qualification testing and service release of Fleet ready components.
You will be responsible for developing technical approaches, project plans, monitoring projects technical and financial execution, developing and reviewing test plans of assigned work.
You will communicate project results both orally and in writing.
You will contribute to the development of engineering solutions to problems.
You will perform product improvement and production manufacturing projects.
You will support a manufacturing organization.
