About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Network -Central, or Network 4, team. This position is located in San Antonio, Texas. The position of Education and Training Support Specialist will service as an advisor to Defense Health Agency Market leadership to assist with the administration and operations of the Education and Training programs in the assigned network of Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).

Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirement for Training and Education Support Specialist: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Public Administration, Education, Management, or other related field of study. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, such as Public Administration, Education, Management, or other related field of study, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described in A above. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) developing plans for education and/or training programs; 2) determining medical facility or professional training requirements for ensuring regulatory compliance; and 3) assisting with the management or identification of funding and/or manpower requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Utilize needs assessment analysis to allocate funding and/or manpower.
Create training and education policies to implement regulations and requirements.
Assess service-level readiness at Military Treatment Facilities/Medical Facilities.
Analyze the education and training programs implemented at Military Treatment Facilities/Medical Facilities.
