A. Specialized Experience: To qualify at the GS-07 Ievel, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position. and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience are identified in the Major Duties section of this vacancy announcement and may also include: Resolves discrepancies involving issues, shipments, receipts, storage and inventory adjustment actions generated externally or from local processing. Investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies B. Education: To qualify at the GS-07 level based on education in lieu of specialized experience, applicants must possess at least 4 years of education above the high school level from an accredited college or university. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. See http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx. If using education to meet basic qualifications. YOU MUST SUBMIT A TRANSCRIPT as supplemental documentation. C. For GS-5level positions. only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (Le., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Physical Demands: Work is performed in office settings and warehouses. Work requires standing on hard surfaces maintaining balance for extended periods of time. Requires bending, stooping, reaching, and twisting in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds. Heavier items may lift greater weights with assistance from other or using materials handling equipment. Must be capable of accomplishing emergency escape procedures from a captive aisle stock selector at heights of 40 feet. Work Environment: The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions such as working around moving parts, carts, or machines. exposure to adverse weather conditions; or exposure to irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear, such as masks, coats, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection and/or gloves.
Investigates and resolves inventory balance discrepancies relevant to receipt, shipment, and storage transactions. Ensures balances are in agreement by performing research and initiates appropriate corrective action.
Uses a wide variety of records and files to investigate and resolve inventory balance discrepancies.
Receives a variety of communications such as emails and phone calls concerning discrepancies involving material inspections, issues, shipments, receipts, storage and inventory adjustment actions generated externally or from local processing.
Participates in physical inventories (counts and verifies items by stock number. quantity. and condition code. etc.). May participate in location audits.
Audits include verification of system information against actual commodity information in stock locations.
