GS-9: To be eligible at the GS-9 level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions, as defined below: specialized experience or education. Specialized experience: One full year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience includes Information Technology concepts and methods and may involve assisting in installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining commonly used systems, servers, hardware and software; monitoring networks architecture, infrastructure, capacity and performance. Education: A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree AND this education is either in one of the following fields OR provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least one of the following conditions, as defined below: specialized experience or education. Specialized Experience: One year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service. Qualifying experience includes Information Technology concepts, methods and analysis and may involve maintaining networks architecture and infrastructure; resolving hardware and software problems; providing information technology concepts, methods, standards and practices. Education: A PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree AND this education is either in one of the following fields OR provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day operations and administration of IT systems within the Office of the United States Attorney. These duties include a wide range of information technology support to meet the USAO information needs using network hardware and software capabilities. Specifically, assignments encompass the following: Assists in the planning and delivery of customer support services at the point of computer user/specialist interface. Provides IT support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems. Performs duties related to the development, configuration, installation, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems. Performs routine assignments and segments of projects related to development, of systems/applications. Documents, develops, tests, installs, and implements new application software. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
