Job Description:
This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Serves as a Supervisory Program Analyst, Demonstrations Branch Chief, providing support to the Joint Fires Integration Division Chief through management of operations and support functions of Deputy Director South. Is an analytical expert for the assessment, synchronization and integration of joint and combined warfighting development functions and activities to address (C4) capability needs and interoperability shortfalls.
You may qualify at the GS- 15, if you fulfill the following qualifications: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service: Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse teams in planning and executing large scale multi-national events. (e.g operations/exercises/demonstrations/assessments). Demonstrated ability to tactfully assimilate often diverse viewpoints from mission partners to coalesce on common interoperability goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable Federal and DoD rules and regulations regarding Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) information and technical exchanges with foreign mission partners. Demonstrated leadership of US military and civilian personnel during periods of change and/or crisis. Demonstrated ability to successfully execute assigned missions during high-tempo, high-stress operations. Demonstrated ability to develop innovative approaches to overcome mission challenges. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Involves planning and coordinating the efforts of the Demonstration Branch, which provides the primary interface between Deputy Director South and Service fires-related and fires-supporting capability developers, coalition members, Allies, and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Influences decision-making in systems integration and interoperability initiatives across the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership and Education, Personnel, Facilities and Policy (DOTMLPF-P) spectrum. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Demonstrations Branch, ensuring that C4/Cyber capability requirements comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Executes administrative, supervisory, and personnel management responsibilities over assigned civilian personnel, military personnel and exercises technical control over the work performed by contractor personnel within the Branch. Leads the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff Instruction (CJCSI)-directed series of Coalition Interoperability Demonstrations and Assessments.
