You will serve as a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC INSPECTOR in the MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND OVERHAUL PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN EAST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1. Performing inspections of the installation, overhaul, and repair. 2. Inspecting assembled and repaired aircraft parts. 3. Using a variety of equipment common to the aircraft mechanic and sheet metal mechanic trades. You will interpret blueprints, specifications, or technical directives to determine work required on aircraft or components.
You will use hand tools (e.g. wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, strap wrenches, air ratchets) to accomplish assigned aircraft duties (e.g. repair, maintenance).
You will adjust aircraft system components or parts to verify repair work complies with prescribed procedures.
You will revise aircraft repair plans and estimates in accordance with changes in priorities, available resources, workload, or similar factors.
You will visually check aircraft for damaged components, assemblies, and parts of airframe and aircraft systems.
