Job Description:
You will serve as an ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (CPPA) at the NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL (NAVSCOLEOD). The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Prepare and maintain documents, records, files, and track suspense actions; 2) Utilize various software to edit reports, collect data, provide information, and track status of various projects; 3) Review and edit correspondence, and documents for correct grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation; 4) Utilize a variety of online systems to initiate and complete personnel transactions; and 5) Review travel requests and provide Defense Travel System (DTS) related training to employees, military staff and students. You will verify contents of documents prior to entering the information in a data processing system to ensure accuracy.
You will maintain files or records to keep documents organized according to the organization's policies or procedures.
You will track administrative actions to ensure that deadlines are met.
You will generate reports to obtain or provide information related to organizational, administrative, or procedural matters.
You will arrange travel using the Defense Travel System (DTS) for personnel assigned to the organization.
