Job Description:

You will serve as a TRAINING INSTRUCTOR (EOD) in the TRAINING DEPARTMENT of NAV SCHOOL EXPLOSIVE ORDNANCE DISPOSAL. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating the following: 1) Conducting training on Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) to personnel; 2) Evaluating students' progress on EOD training; 3) Developing solutions to EOD instructional issues; and 4) Identifying training resources required (e.g., facilities, instructors, supplies) to implement an EOD training program. You will develop aspects of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training (e.g., course curricula, lesson plans, instructor guides) to assist in the certification of students as qualified to perform EOD activities.
You will implement Operation Risk Management (ORM) techniques to increase operational effectiveness by anticipating hazards or reducing potential loss.
You will evaluate instructor techniques, student interaction, and adherence to lesson plans to perform an instructor evaluation.
You will counsel students in the areas of performance, deportment, attitude, and participation to coordinate corrective measures.
