This vacancy is for a GS-0346-13, Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Coast Guard (USCG), Aviation Logistics Center (ALC), Industrial Operations Divsion (IOD), Industrial Support Branch in Elizabeth City, NC.
To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Specialized experience must include the following: Managing a staff of supply/inventory/finance workers Overseeing compliance with conducting supply / inventory audits, reporting results, and taking corrective action Analyzing a variety of unusual supply management and financial problems, questions, or conditions NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist and be responsible for supervise or personally perform duties that identify specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the Industrial Operations Division (IOD) ancl correlate those requirements with program plans to assure needed support is provided at the right time and right place, at the right cost. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Demonstrating leadership and processing coordination abilities. Participating in the selection of new team members, identifying training needs, attending to personal development plans; exercising budgetary controls, and maintaining an awareness of all processes. Formulating long-range plans, composing schedules, and coordinating work operations, assigning, directing, and reviewing the work of subordinates and resolving related problems. Monitoring progress toward meeting the logistics plan and to identify the cause and the impact of delays or other problems and takes action to prevent or overcome problems. Performing logistical analysis and developing related reports and presentations.
