This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families. Qualified candidates will possess the following: documented experience carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports; guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports, AND ability to obtain and then maintain the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, & AED, MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair). Leads and or supervises the operation during second shift of program operations and in the absence of the Fitness Manager.
Conducts classes and walks all facility rooms to provide guidance as appropriate.
Assists in the assessment of facility requirements and helps develop plans and specifications for projects to augment or replace fitness and sports facilities.
Oversees the inventory of property; fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.
