This position is part of the Agency Support Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington, DC.
To qualify for the Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist, PG-2010-11, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the PG-09 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience includes: 1) Providing oversight of inventory control and accountability. 2) Using an inventory database to maintain records and stock levels. 3) Providing supply support to meet production needs and deadlines and resolving supply issues. 4) Leading others in a work environment; for example, setting and adjusting short-term priorities, reviewing others' work for accuracy, counseling, training, and/or advising on work and administrative matters. OR Possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a course of study related to the position such as, quality control and inventory management or supply chain management. OR Three (3) years of progressively higher-level graduate education in a course of study related to the position such as, quality control and inventory management or supply chain management. OR A combination of education and specialized experience. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Oversees warehousing and distribution of materials and supplies, which includes receiving, inventory, processing, and disposal of paper shipments.
Performs supply management functions, including managing changing priorities of day-to-day production operations in a warehouse environment.
Resolves issues pertaining to supply operations/functions.
Ensures material handling equipment is maintained within the warehouse area and loading dock.
Performs the full range of first-level supervisory duties, overseeing 9 or more employees.
