The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance and repair of industrial machinery, equipment and systems. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: - Installing, troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, overhauling and servicing of a variety of complex industrial plant machinery, equipment and systems. - Reviewing and following approved and designated maintenance procedure cards for on-site industrial equipment, selecting and ordering and installing the proper materials. - Maintaining equipment in accordance with manufacturer's technical manuals and approved maintenance procedure cards - Reassembling, performing operational and functional tests and making required adjustments in order to ensure safe and proper operation of entire system. - Operating cranes, fork trucks, front-end loaders and other material handling equipment. - Leveraging technical skill to track maintenance activities in Coast Guard Information Technology (IT) tools of record.
