Clinical License at the Independent Level. Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) Substance/Addictions Assessment. Critical Incident Stress Management. Adult Education Theory/Training. Organizational Dynamics/Management. Coaching/HR Policy. Understanding of Senate structure/culture. Knowledge of conflict resolution, intervention, stress management and modern counseling principles and practices. As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Desired Qualifications Ability to work extended hours and respond to emergency situations. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. Sedentary. Emergency staff, able to respond under pressure to the demands & timetables of others with little control over the events.
Provides comprehensive confidential assessment, referral and follow-up emotional, behavioral, and coaching support services for Senate employees and their immediate family members addressing a wide variety of employee problems/crises within a diverse population. Provides psychological safety and trauma informed care in an emergency and thereafter – potentially outside of normal business hours. Interacts professionally with others regarding sensitive and confidential issues with a high level of effective communication skills. Provides consultative services to managers and conducts organizational needs analysis, potentially resulting in developing and facilitating group interventions and workshops. Maintains confidentiality and security of reporting and records in accordance with established EAP standards, applicable statutes and Senate policies. Other duties as assigned.
