THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY NAVIGATOR (INSTRUCTOR), Position Description Number PDD2310000 and is part of the WY 153rd Airlift Wing, Wyoming Air National Guard. This is a Title 32 Dual Status Technician Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is required.
AREAS OF CONSIDERATION: Referrals of qualified applicants will be issued as follows: Area 2: All permanent and indefinite Wyoming Air National Guard (ANG) T32 Dual Status technicians employed within the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 4: All current military members of the Wyoming Air National Guard. Area 6: Current military service members to include the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves, and other states' Air National Guard units. Must be willing/eligible to join the Wyoming Air National Guard as a military member prior to appointment to position TECHNICIAN INFO Type of Appointment: Permanent Tenure: Group 1 or 2 Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 4:30 pm FLSA: Exempt Telework: The duties of this position require primary physical presence. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must possess experience which provided a working knowledge of the navigation systems and navigational instruments of the assigned airframe. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 - Must possess experience education or training equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11). Experience that has required you to obtain information on type of mission, weather and intelligence data, and special instructions; experience preparing navigation flight plans; experience that provided knowledge of proper readings and operations of navigational systems; experience that shows your ability to test and inspect the operation of compasses, navigation systems, or radio and radar equipment; experience utilizing various navigational methods and aids to accomplish flying missions; experience computing the effect of various factors during flight to establish present course and project balance of course and ability to train, evaluate and certify proficiency and competency of lower graded personnel AND you must have completed the necessary hours required for your current airframe (ex. 1000 hours total navigation time, which includes 200 hours' time in the C-130), and be 12M3B C130H mission qualified and meet the minimum instructor upgrade requirements (1000 hours total time, 200 hours in Primary Assigned Aircraft (PAA) C130H). GS-13 - Must possess experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) and possess certification as a qualified Navigator Instructor. NOTE: Minimum Requirements and Specialized Experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position. Applicants must provide from MM/YYYY - MM/YYYY (e.g., 02/2015 - 03/2017 or Feb 2017 - Mar - 2017) dates and hours worked per week with description of your specialized experience on the resume. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: Must possess or be eligible to retrain into AFSC 016G3, Air Force Operations Staff Officer. DRIVER'S LICENSE: Must possess a valid state's driver's license.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as chief of the function and as such, is responsible for all navigational support provided by the squadron. (1) Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. (2) Develops and monitors the Squadron's navigation ground and flight training program. (3) As required, serves as standardization/evaluation flight examiner. (4) As required, flies as mission-ready rated navigator in unit aircraft. (5) Ensures that complete navigation packets (DD 1801 flight plans, navigator flight plans, charts, forms, fuel plan, and air crew flimsy) are developed, available, and distributed. ** This is NOT an all-inclusive list of duties. **
