Job Description:
You will serve as a Secretary in the Department of the Navy for CTR FOR SEC FORCES DET NOR ISLAND.
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Providing a wide variety of recurring and nonrecurring personal and executive correspondence, reports, and other documents from information obtained from the staff, files and other sources. 2) Performing pay, personnel, and travel transactions in accordance with policies, procedures and system capabilities. 3) Providing guidance to command personnel on changes to pay and personnel policies and procedures. 4) Utilizing and maintain a variety of computer software systems and programs as necessary to complete administrative duties. You will operate standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and office automation systems.
You will review correspondence and reports for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation errors.
You will book travel, prepare orders and complete vouchers.
You will maintain calendars, coordinate meeting and conference arrangement for staff.
You will receive and distribute mail to appropriate staff members and reroute if necessary to other organizations.
You will manage all military personnel support issues and requirements utilizing multiple software systems
