Job Description:

A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, fences, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and related utilities. Assist journey-level, or other higher graded maintenance workers in the maintenance, repair, and construction of buildings and facilities and performs carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and other related indoor and outdoor maintenance duties. Works solo or as part of a team to accomplish all park tasks. Operates riding and push mowers, gas-powered weed eater, and pressure wash machine. Scours lavatories, stools, and urinals, vacuums and shampoos carpets. Cleans offices and buildings, collecting bagged trash and recycled materials from site buildings, historic structures and hauling those materials to designated areas in the site. Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using brooms and mops. Dusts, waxes and polishes office furniture, tabletops, desks, chairs, lighting, fixtures, windows, window ledges and woodwork. Operates 2 and 4-wheel pickups and tractor. The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period is November - April but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: early November.
