THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1414P03 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of consideration for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code ยง 709), will be in the following manner and sequence: The area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG. Military Grades: Officer Only - Capt. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-12 Level - MUST possess the specialized experience, education or training equivalent to one year at the lower level GS-11, which includes identifying activities involving logistical support operations; experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan; experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan; experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions. SUPERVISORY SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: MUST possess the experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Verbiage displayed on your resume or application must contain your own words. As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32),GS-0346-12, you will serve as the Logistics Officer with responsibility for overall program management, direction, and control of wing logistics planning that includes multiple units and may include geographically separated units where no logistics management personnel are assigned. You will manage, direct, develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics planning. Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list: Establish deployment policy and set procedures for the integrated efforts of aircraft maintenance, supply, transportation, civil engineering, operations, and supported units for mission essential deployment operations and logistics war planning. Determine the type and number of aircraft required for mission deployment/redeployment. Validates load plans, priority shipments, and customs clearance requirements. Plan, develop, direct, and conduct deployment training for the wing and units. Develop and schedule manpower and workload requirements for the organization deployment work centers and ensures they are fully staffed and trained. Manage, direct, and implement the local formulation and publication of installation deployment guidance based on regulations, manuals, instructions, and directives issued by higher headquarters. Plan and control the movement of personnel and equipment during simulated and actual deployments and exercises. Assess deployment capabilities with unit commanders to ensure that required deployment training is being conducted. Develop and direct the formulation of load plans and analyze transportation requirements for the wing and units. Provide guidance and assistance to all non-pilot units of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, and Air National Guard; attends NGB, and gaining MAJCOM workshops and conferences; and provides feedback information to non-pilot units from NGB and MAJCOMS. Review resource/logistical plans, programs, and deployment activities with the Wing Commander/Air Commander to ensure that authorized mobility equipment is available, on order, and properly budgeted for. Analyze and validate logistical inputs for the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) Unit Status of Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS). Represent the Wing/Air Commander at deployment planning conferences conducted by higher headquarters when resource/ logistics planning, agreements or related matters are involved.
